Cultural terrorism?

Vishwaroopam issue shows the weakness in our system.

Yes, we have a functional Censor Board in India. It looks after censorship.

According to Wikipedia,
The Central Board of Film Certification (often referred to as the Censor Board) is a statutory censorship and classification body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. It is tasked with "regulating the public exhibition of films under the provisions of the Cinematograph Act 1952". It assigns certifications to films, television shows, television ads, and publications for exhibition, sale or hire in India.

Recent protests over Vishwaroopam raises many questions.

  1. Why Censor Board is needed, if the certification given by it of no use?
  2. If Censor Board gives a green signal to a film how can any govt ban it?
  3. Can a section of society protest & make the producer delete the scenes they need?
  4. Govt is not overreacting or Censor Board is inefficient?
  5. Have all sections of society as members of censor board then?
Whatever may be the answers for above questions, better if we
  1. Make Censor Board strong, responsible and accountable.
  2. Stop appeasement policy
